Attleboro Firefighters Visit City Schools to Teach Kids About Fire Safety
ATTLEBORO — Chief Scott Lachance is please to announce that Attleboro firefighters have been visiting some of the city’s schools and day cares over the past week to teach kids about fire safety.
Attleboro Fire Lt. Corey Blais and Firefighter Paul Jacques visited students and children throughout the week as part of the department’s Student Awareness of Fire Education (SAFE) program. The firefighters visited Willet Elementary School, Thacher Elementary School, Studley Elementary School, Hyman Fine Elementary School and Hill-Roberts Elementary School. They also went to the Busy Bee Day Care and Twinkle Little Star Day Care.
The kids were taught how to stop, drop and roll, about smoke detector safety, formulating escape plans and how to use 911.
