Attleboro Firefighters Knock Down Basement Fire on Pine Street

ATTLEBORO – At approximately 7:00 p.m. on October 12, Attleboro Fire Department crews were dispatched to 18 Pine Street for a reported structure fire in a multi-family residence.

On arrival, firefighters observed smoke coming from the basement. Crews made a quick interior attack, bringing the fire under control shortly after arrival. Once the flames were extinguished, firefighters ventilated the residence using fans to remove smoke.  There was smoke damage throughout residence.

Two residents were transported to Sturdy Memorial Hospital with burn injuries and are expected to recover.

Red Cross was called to scene to assist four residents with temporary housing.

Crews remained on scene for approximately one hour.

Mutual aid was provided by the Pawtucket, Seekonk, North Attleboro, and Norton Fire Departments for on-scene assistance and station coverage.
