Emergency Management in the City of Attleboro is responsible for preparing for, responding to, and recovering from emergencies and disasters that impact residents, businesses, and critical infrastructure. This includes coordinating city departments, public safety agencies, regional partners, and state and federal resources before, during, and after incidents such as severe weather, power outages, hazardous materials incidents, public health emergencies, and other large-scale events.
The City’s Emergency Management program focuses on advance planning, emergency operations coordination, public notification, sheltering and evacuation planning, and post-incident recovery efforts. Fire Chief Scott Lachance serves as the City of Attleboro’s Emergency Management Director, overseeing these efforts to reduce risk, protect life and property, and ensure the city can respond quickly and effectively during emergencies—while helping the community return to normal as safely and efficiently as possible.
