ATTLEBORO — A large tree fell onto a Mayhew Road home Saturday night, causing damage to the residence and bringing electrical lines down into the roadway.
At approximately 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 26, the Attleboro Fire Department responded to Mayhew Road for a report of a tree that had fallen onto a residence.
When crews arrived, they found a large tree had fallen from the rear of the property onto the home, causing damage to the structure and pulling electrical lines down into the roadway.
Firefighters blocked the road and secured the area to protect motorists and pedestrians from the electrical hazards.
Both residents were home at the time of the incident. Neither was injured.
National Grid was requested to the scene to secure the downed electrical lines and address the power hazard.
The Attleboro Building Inspector also responded to assess the damage to the home. Due to the extent of the damage, the residents were unable to occupy the home pending necessary repairs.
Attleboro Fire crews remained on scene until approximately 11 p.m.
