Regional Tech Rescue Team

Specialized Regional Support

The Attleboro Fire Department (AFD) takes an all-hazards approach and is ready for anything. When emergencies exceed the capabilities of a single department, our region relies on specialized teams to assist. In every case, AFD remains on scene from start to finish, ensuring our community is protected and supported until the incident is fully resolved.

Two of our members, Lt. Dan Murray and Lt. Andrew Nunes, proudly serve on the Bristol County Technical Rescue Team, a 45-member unit made up of firefighters from departments across the region. This highly skilled team is trained and equipped to handle the most complex and dangerous rescue situations, including:

  • Confined space rescues
  • High- and low-angle rope rescues
  • Structural collapse incidents
  • Trench rescues
  • Swiftwater and ice rescues

Through their involvement, Lt. Murray and Lt. Nunes not only bring their expertise to regional operations but also strengthen AFD’s own preparedness, ensuring our department remains ready for anything.
