Attleboro, MA – On August 8, 2025, the Attleboro Fire Department responded to two serious incidents occurring within a short timeframe.
At approximately 10:44 a.m., AFD crews were dispatched to Bruce Diamond Corp., located at 1231 County Street, for reports of a explosion. While a chemical agent was being used to clean a metal melting machine, a flash explosion occurred. The building’s sprinkler system activated, and employees quickly used fire extinguishers to contain the fire. The incident was contained to the area of origin, with no fire extension in the building. One individual was evaluated for injury at the scene but was not transported to the hospital. Units cleared the scene at 11:18 a.m.
While crews were still on scene at Bruce Diamond Corp., at approximately 11:16 a.m., other AFD units were dispatched to Washington Street in front of the Triple Play Car Wash for a motor vehicle crash. Upon arrival, crews found two vehicles involved with a total of four occupants, all of whom had self-extricated. Three occupants were transported: two advanced life support (ALS) patients to Rhode Island Hospital and one ALS patient to Sturdy Memorial Hospital. All transported have non-life threatening injuries. The Attleboro Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash.
