This week is National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week

Every emergency starts with a voice.

Before a firefighter arrives.
Before EMS begins care.
Before lights and sirens are heard…
There is a dispatcher.

During National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week (April 12–18, 2026), we recognize the men and women behind the headset who serve as the first point of contact in every emergency.

Our fire and EMS dispatchers are the calm in the chaos gathering critical information, coordinating resources, and providing lifesaving instructions, all while ensuring the safety of crews in the field. They are the link between our community and the help they need, 24/7/365.

At the Attleboro Fire Department, we are proud to work alongside dedicated professionals who answer the call, often in the most stressful moments of someone’s life, and handle it with skill, compassion, and professionalism.

They may not be seen on scene, but their impact is felt on every call.

Join us in thanking our dispatchers
