ATTLEBORO — The Attleboro Fire Department will illuminate its fire stations in red as part of a national tribute honoring firefighters who have died in the line of duty.
The tribute is part of the Light the Night for Fallen Firefighters campaign, led by the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. Communities across the country participate by lighting buildings, landmarks, and homes in red during the week leading up to the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend in Emmitsburg, Maryland.
Each year, the Memorial Weekend honors firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving their communities. The red lights serve as a visible reminder that their courage and dedication will never be forgotten.
The Attleboro Fire Department invites residents and businesses to join in this tribute by displaying a red light at their home or workplace during the week of April 26 through May 3.
Lighting our stations in red is a simple but meaningful way to honor those who gave their lives in service and to show support for the families they left behind
