ATTLEBORO — Members of the Attleboro Fire Department participated in an advanced Aerial Operations program this month, led by Response Training Group.
The three day program combined classroom instruction with hands on training designed to maximize the capabilities of the department’s ladder truck. Firefighters focused on aerial placement, apparatus positioning, building access, rescue operations, and tactical decision making to improve efficiency and safety on the fireground.
A key component of the training was conducting practical exercises using Ladder 1 at buildings throughout Attleboro. Training in the same neighborhoods and on the same types of buildings firefighters respond to every day helps build familiarity, reinforce sound decision making, and better prepare crews for real emergencies.
“Training in the environment where we respond every day gives our firefighters a tremendous advantage,” said Training Lieutenant Dan Murray. “It allows our crews to build confidence with the apparatus, refine their decision making, and develop the skills needed to operate safely and effectively when lives and property are at risk.”
The Attleboro Fire Department remains committed to providing high quality training that reflects the challenges firefighters face in the field. The department thanks Response Training Group for delivering the program and all members who participated.
