ATTLEBORO- The Attleboro Fire Department is currently conducting its annual pump and hose testing as part of our ongoing commitment to safety, readiness, and operational excellence. This essential testing ensures that our fire apparatus and hose lines are functioning properly and are ready to perform under the demanding conditions of an emergency.
Our engines are capable of pumping up to 1500 gallons per minute. Our large-diameter supply lines can carry up to 1000 gallons per minute, while our attack lines can deliver up to 500 gallons per minute at pressures greater than 150 PSI. These flows are critical for maintaining effective fire suppression and protecting both lives and property.
All testing is conducted in accordance with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards. Pump testing is guided by NFPA 1911, which addresses the inspection, maintenance, and performance of fire apparatus. Hose testing follows NFPA 1962, which ensures all hose lines can safely handle the pressures they are rated for during real-world operations.
