ATTLEBORO – On Monday, December 1, at approximately 8:20 p.m., the Attleboro Fire Department responded to a serious motor vehicle crash on South Avenue near Greenfield Street. Upon arrival, crews found two vehicles with heavy front-end damage. Each vehicle was occupied only by its driver.
One driver was able to self-extricate and was transported to Sturdy Memorial Hospital. The second driver was trapped and removed by firefighters using the Jaws of Life. That individual was transported ALS to Rhode Island Hospital.
South Avenue remains closed in both directions. The Attleboro Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash.
