
ATTLEBORO, MA – At approximately 12:08 p.m., the Attleboro Fire Department was dispatched to a report of wires pulled from a residence and siding on fire on Brander Road.
Upon arrival, crews found that electrical wires had been dislodged from the home’s service box, igniting nearby cedar shingles. The energized wires posed an additional hazard and complicated extinguishment efforts. Firefighters utilized chemical extinguishing agents to control the flames while awaiting National Grid’s arrival to terminate power to the home.
The fire was successfully contained to the area around the electrical meter, with no interior damage reported. The Red Cross was contacted to assist the homeowner.
